The church was classified as a historic monument by the Québec government in 1974, along with its decorative works of art. It is designated a building of exceptional heritage value and is part of the heritage site of the Ancien-Village-du-Sault-au-Récollet, created in 1992 by the City of Montréal. The masonry of the façade was restored in 2006. The roof of the church was restored in 1990, while that of the east rectory was done in 2003. The church is surrounded by a protective area with a diameter of about 150 metres.
