Marius Dufresne
1883 - 1945

Marius Dufresne was an engineer, business man, and architecture aficionado who held key positions on Maisonneuve's city council and was active in the real estate market. He and his brother Oscar promoted major projects (city hall, market, public bath, park, fire hall) for the city of Maisonneuve. The wealthy sons of Thomas Dufresne, a major shoe manufacturer in Maisonneuve, Marius and Oscar built themselves a luxurious mansion (1915-1918), now the Musée du Château Dufresne.
