Protection action

In addition to being located in the Lachine Canal exceptional heritage sector, the building was identified as a building of exceptional heritage value by the Built Heritage Evaluation carried out by the City of Montreal.

When the building was converted to the Château Saint-Ambroise in 1999, the exterior was restored by developers David and Céline Sepulchre. The concrete additions to the buildings and the aluminum siding added to the façade from 1983 to 1986 were removed to reveal the building's original architecture and structure.
